The unpainted items are made out of Beechwood...same as BRIO®. Do not be fooled by competitors who use inferior Birchwood to save dollars. BRIO® is our standard for the finest quality. We endeavor to reach a quality and look level so that if you had a choice of our product or the high price product at equal prices, you would choose ours.
The painted pieces are Maple. Equally hard and durable. Our paint complies with or exceeds all requirements of CPSC or CES. In some instances our competitors use plastic. We use MDF!
